1997: “All you have to do is put on two elections a year. How hard can that be?” As a 30-year retiring Air Force colonel, I am joking with some fellow instructors at the Air War College as I prepare to leave for my new “civilian” job as the assistant registrar in Clark County, Nevada. I am headed to Las Vegas, cocky, confident and totally unprepared.

Georgia voter ID law blocked
This week’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling partly blocks Georgia from enforcing a law requiring would-be voters to prove U.S. citizenship, Secretary of State Brian Kemp said Wednesday. Jeremy Redmon, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

Nutter panel: Voting problems could have been avoided
The Nutter administration weighed in Wednesday with an analysis of last November's election problems, saying better management by the city commissioners would have reduced confusion and likely spared some voters from having to use provisional paper ballots. Bob Warner, The Philadelphia Inquirer.
